a one day journey of exploration through the use of direct application, non-grouted mosaics using exotic materials
          from around the globe. Materials include: Venetian millefiore, Italian and Mexican smalti, Van Gogh art glass and more.

          Glass Fusing for Mosaics - This one-day course is designed to give students an introduction to the basics of glass
           fusing (melting glass pieces in a kiln) to form their own glass pieces to use in mosaics.

 Miami Mosaic Academy  -  Smalti, Millifiori, & Marble:  Creating Fine Art Mosaics
"Smalti Fine Art Mosaics" In this 5 day class we will let go of the mystique of working with smalti, byzantine glass, millifiori, & marble! You will work on a 2-D fine art mosaic, exploring different fine art mosaic setting options available to both classical and contemporary styles. We will also focus on learning proper techniques with Martellino & Hardie for precision in cutting!

                               in Oakland.     Millefiori Mirror Workshop -  Learn the art of working with Italian Millefiori & Moretti
                               glass,  stained glass,  vitreous glass and smalti with a focus on embedding tesserae without grout . Class
                               includes using the appropriate adhesive, coloring & pigments.

Simple Mosaics, Laura Aiken    -   FUSED GLASS CABOCHONS

                    Participants will learn how to make colorful and vibrant cabochons*, or glass inclusions, for use in their
                    mosaic work or to actually wear as jewelry. Each student will create 5-7 pieces that will be fired and
                   delivered back to the studio for pick up.  This is a 2 hour class.    No experience necessary. Greenville, SC
